The application itself doesn't install anything locally that would cause
you to get notifications. Sourceforge does that directly and uninstalling
the app will have no effect.

I believe you should ask sourceforge.net to help you get unsubscribed.
There is nothing I can personally configure on the sourceforge site to
control notifications.

I installed PDFMerge to see if it would solve my problem. It didn't for
reasons unrelated to PDFMerge, so I uninstalled it. However, on a daily
basis now I get browser notifications from PDFMerge, despite blocking such
notifications in Chrome, and since I have uninstalled PDFMerge I have no
recourse within the software itself.

Please let me know how to stop these notifications.
