My file created on the desktop doesn't sync with my Palm
(Tungsten E), and now I can't open it with PDesk either!!
I get the message "this is not a PDesk file".
I tried renaming a copy with a .pdb extension but it still
looks like a .pdk file that cannot be opened.
Advice please. I had a bunch of data in that file - is it
really gone? The file is only 1 kb now.

I had the same problem after a hard reset of my Handspring Visor. The tip renaming the PDesk-Files from .pdk to .pdb solved the problem to get the entry of a project to Progect on my device, but opening such en entry ended in a Fatal Exception and a soft reset of the device. After copying the PDesk-File to C:\Program Files\Palm\<User>\Progect (with the pdk-suffix) and another hotsync everything was fine for me.
