if you use this macro:

#define pechochar(w,c)
(waddch(w,(chtype)c)==ERR?ERR:prefresh(w))

the copiler
will complain that prefresh() has too few argument...

    I've looked at the problem. It is not feasable to define
    pechochar() as a macro in PDCUrses, so I have removed it
    from curses.h. Calls to pechochar() will now call the real
    function rather than a macro.
    To fix the problem at your site, simply delete the macro
    definition in curses.h
