If you redirect standard input e.g. as part of a
testsuite then pdcurses freezes utilising 99% cpu on
windows platform.

    PDCurses is not designed to read from standard input. But it
    would be nice if it didn't lock up, either.

    Interesting results when attempting to redirect on other
    platforms, too... Watcom/DOS (both 16 and 4g): no output
    (!), keyboard input still works. DJGPP: Everything appears
    normal, with redirection simply ignored.

    OK, in 3.0, the program aborts with an error instead of locking up if you try to redirect input in Win32. Not exactly a fix, but it's an improvement.
