Hi,

after inserting a Proxim Orinoco 8480 card into a PC
with pcmcia-cd 3.1.31 (RedHat 9), I receive an error

Failed to allocate ressource 0 (ef010000-ef003ffff)

(and subsequently the driver(madwifi) does not find the
new device)

What does this mean - especially since the
start-address is higher than the end address ?

The full "dmesg" output reads as follows:

---------------

It is a kernel bug in the PCI subsystem.

You could try using a 2.4.23 kernel, but it's possible this
bug is not fixed until the 2.6.0-test kernels.
