I have installed most of RH 7.2 on a Toshiba 460CDT
and am using Xircom RealPort2 CardBus 10/100
PCMCIA cards (R2BE-100BTX) and they are recognized
fine by the pcmcia config file and use the xircom_cb
driver. Everything works fine until you try to shutdown
the computer or stop pcmcia. They will both hang the
computer. I get the following message on shutdown:
cardmgr: executing 'modprobe -r cb_enabler' and
then it just hangs.
I did try substituting the tulip driver which seems to work
better but still hangs.
I did notice that this was a listed bug in on the pcmcia-
ca site. Xircom Cardbus hands on some Toshiba
Any advice on how to get this working so I can restart
without a hard reset? Or should I get new cards?
