I have an existing driver for which I am trying to write a driver_cs wrapper. I've read over the programming howtro a few times. I don't understand how when driver_cs is loaded it know how to load the corresponding driver. Can anyone explain it to me? Is it solely on the name? Do I need to make sure my pcmcia glue for "driver" is called "driver_cs"?
There's no formal association between "driver" and "driver_cs": that's just a naming convention. The system knows the association either because "modprobe" figures out that the only way to satisfy an unresolved symbol in "driver_cs" is to first load "driver", or because /etc/pcmcia/config explicitly says to load those modules together.
