smc 2532w-b wifi issue

    laptop = micron transport GX
    distro = debian sarge
    kernel = 2.6.13 custom
    pcmcia =  built 3.2.8
    driver = built hostap

    I'm fairly baffled on this one. I have a Dlink 690txd that works perfectly with current setup. I've used the same smc wifi card in other distros without issue, even on the same laptop. I'ts usually a simple make make install and everythings a go. Not this time. When I insert the card I get this in /var/log/messages and /var/log/daemons.

    cardmgr[3565]: socket 0: Zcomax XI-325H 200mW
    cardmgr[3565]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: No such device
    kernel: hostap_cs: setting Vcc=33 (constant)

    then cardctl ident
    Socket 0:
      product info: "SMC", "SMC2532W-B EliteConnect Wireless Adapter", "", ""
      manfid: 0xd601, 0x0005
      function: 6 (network)
    Socket 1:
      product info: "D-Link", "DFE-690TXD", "PC Card"
      manfid: 0x0149, 0x0000
      function: 6 (network)

    And I get nothing mentioning the smc card with lspci -vv.

    Please help ;)

      Ooops, sorry to waste space here, I solved my issue with the latest install of the hostap driver. I need to increase my help threshold, I'm afraid it's been lowered due to haveing a fulltime job, lol.
