I have been encountering a serious problem trying to
use pcmcia_cs v.3.1.22 through 3.1.25 under Red Hat
7.1: I keep getting an invalid bus bridge at 0x1fffffff
error which appears to stop the i82365.o module from
loading.
I tried many combinations of kernel configurations, and
parameters in the various pcmcia setup files, but in
the end the only thing that worked was to downgrade my
laptop from 512meg down to 256meg of RAM. I could not
find any information about this anywhere during the
last two days so I am assuming that it is a probelm
(bug...?) with the i82365 module

It is not a PCMCIA bug; it is a bug in something else which
is causing your amount of physical memory to be
misdetected. The 2.4 kernel will then assign a memory
window to the bridge that conflicts with the top of your
    RAM.

Are you using the "grub" boot loader? That seems to be a
    common cause of the problem.

Linus is working on a fix and it is being discussed on
linux-kernel. I'm going to close this bug since the problem
is not specific to the PCMCIA subsystem.
