#67 open preferences dialog from external command (or shell)

I'd like to be able to call the PCManFM preferences dialog from outside of the program. For instance, I'm setting up an Openbox environment with pcmanfm as the desktop+wallpaper, and I'd really like to be able to use my right click menu on the desktop, but I also want an easy-to-access preferences to be able to change said wallpaper, etc. So a command that I could call that would start up only the preferences dialog would be great.

I would like to second this. I'm the developer of TinyMe, a PCLinuxOS based distribution which uses many elements of LXDE. For a future version, I would like to have PCManFM manage the desktop in TinyMe, but I would have to have a command-line way to launch the dialog so I can change the wallpaper.

Either that, or if you could have a way to hook GPicView in with PCManFM and use GPicView. I actually think using GPicView would be better, because it gives you the option to see the picture.

A third option comes to mind: add "Set as wallpaper" as a right-click option or in the drop-down menus.

This has been implemented and should be closed.
