Having the ability to browse the network in PCManFM would be a definite plus - at the moment the only gtk file manager in ubuntu edgy with this ability is Nautilus, and that is highly unsuitable for lightweight use. If not with gnome-vfs, then please, somehow :) My laptop has no way to browse the network currently - I tried linneighborhood, but that can't actually access my filesystem, so that's out of the window.

Under KDE, I'd use Konqueror, and under Gnome, I'd use Nautilus, but my poor little JWM running laptop has nothing :(

    No, using gnome-vfs is not in our plan.
    Many drawbacks of gnome-vfs cause the poor performance of nautilus.
