Hi I use Ubuntu 12.04 and if required I am happy to bug report this there as well.
Using gnome-orca and when I use pcmanfm which is preferred for the speed, I can not access my desktop icons with speech.
You seem to have CSS turned off.

Thank you very much. The PCManFM up to 1.1 versions has very limited support for accessibility. It will be implemented in next release (1.2).
The accessibility for desktop is implemented in current GIT version of pcmanfm. It can be installed into Ubuntu using ppa:lubuntu-dev/lubuntu-daily and I would like to hear from you if it is really accessible and especially if you encountered any problem with it.
Thank you very much.
Hi, have used the ppa version you referred me to and I can report that all icon/details/compact views work really well which was another accessibility bug. Thank you. How ever I am still puzzled about if pcmanfm is still managing the desktop. There used to be an option for it. Has it now been removed? Am happy to discuss this further on IRC if you give server/channel info. Thanks
PCManFM can manage the desktop if command-line option --desktop is used. You might miss it.
Thank you very much for all your testing!
The IRC channel is #lxde on server irc.oftc.net.
Thank yhou for taking the time to fix this and care about accessibility.
