Using PCmanFM-1.2.1/LibFM-1.2.2.1 on slackware64-current. With View > Sort Files Ascending By Name selected and ignore case not checked I get the expected sort order in the Folder / File Pane, but the Directory Tree (leftmost column) ignores the sort order, /bin comes before /Desktop.
Further, I have my environment set to LC_COLLATE=C which should also set sorting to (e.g.) AABBCCDD...aabbccdd....

All sorting options are only for view, which is clearly stated since they are under View menu, and only exception for that is the Show Hidden flag. If you want to have sort settings for sidebar then you can think of this as a feature request and developers can consider that on some development cycle. Thank you very much.
Well... Yes. If I wasn't "View"ing I probably wouldn't care what the sort order was. Interesting that you don't find the inconsistency a bug. Will request it as a Feature. Thanks.
The sidebar is not a view, in any case, it is an optional navigation helper, therefore no sort options can be applied to it. I just move this request into feature requests tracker. Thank you.
The information being provided to this "optional navigation helper" is being obtained from some source by some process. Obviously obtaining the information and then rendering it for navigation purposes requires some processing by PCmanFM. Why can't sort be part of that process?
Frankly speaking, sidebar is just a pane of buttons to change folder in the view, nothing more, IT IS NOT A VIEW, therefore no operations were reserved to it except for dropping on it. The same about view options (no view options since there is no real view). Though this request is valid as a feature request to use not just default representation. Be patient, it might be implemented sometime, right now that isn't possible due to mentioned restrictions of sidebar purpose. Thanks.
