I'm using PCManFM 1.2.0 and here are the steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to /tmp.
  2. Click into the address bar.
  3. Move a directory up.

The cursor is now always at the beginning of the address bar which can make troubles if somebody wants to do a fast file search.

If you deliberately focused address bar I don't think some widget should steal the focus, it's why it's kept there. And you know, you can simply press 'Enter' to move the focus to the view and do a fast file search.
    Thank you very much.

If the behavior should be kept I think PCManFM should at least keep the cursor position or if it is out of range setting it to the end. Currently the cursor goes always at the beginning which looks buggy.

I have found another problem with this: If a new tab is created it will get automatically the focus (the complete text get marked). Maybe this behavior should be disabled then.

The focus on location bar for new tab is a documented behavior.
And about wrong cursor placement in the location bar you are right - that is definitely a bug.
    Thank you very much.

The focus on location bar for new tab is a documented behavior.

Is there then an option to disable this? Otherwise it would be really annoying.

I'm afraid no option was created to alter this behavior. Write a feature request, please, so it will be added for next feature release (1.3). Thank you very much.

The behavior of cursor is corrected in the current GIT source, it should be positioned at the end of field after navigation now. Thank you very much.
