The build fails after a whole lot of warning messages like this:

src/Makefile.am:351: warning: source file 'demo/libfm-demo.c' is in a subdirectory,
src/Makefile.am:351: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled
src/Makefile.am:351: warning: source file 'demo/main-win.c' is in a subdirectory,
src/Makefile.am:351: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled
src/Makefile.am:322: warning: source file 'tools/libfm-pref-apps.c' is in a subdirectory,
src/Makefile.am:322: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled

Rumour has it that the fix is adding this to Makefile.am:
AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = subdir-objects

    That option should not be put into AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS variable but into AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE() arguments instead.
    We'll discuss the choices and make an adaptation. Thank you very much.

    We hope this issue is completely fixed in the Git repository recently.
    Check it out when it's possible for you and if the bug still exists then reopen the report, please.
    Thank you very much.
