Hi. I use arch 64 bits fully updated with lxde and openbox. My pcmanfm version is 1.1.0-1 and libfm is 1.1.0-3, both from arch's repo.

I can't access to Applications in pcmanfm. When I click in Applications I can see Universal Acces, Accessories, Education..., but clicking on a category don't do anything (mouse changes to 'thinking' mode, waiting for pcmanfm reaction). If I try to do it a second time I even can see the caterories, pcmanfm is always 'thinkng'. Same if I type pcmanfm -n menu://Applications. However Desktop, Trash and Computer works fine, the problem seems related only with Applications menu

I believe that is a menu-cache problem. I have no idea at this moment how to find the cause of it. :(

I can confirm it's a problem with menu-cache. Both menu-cache 0.4.0 and 0.4.1 suffer the bug, but I've downgraded to menu-cache 0.3.3 with an open pcmanfm instance and the problem is gone. However I can't open a new instance with 0.3.3:

pcmanfm: error while loading shared libraries: libmenu-cache.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have found a weird solution:

    - Start the machine with menu-cache 0.4.1
    - Open a pcmanfm instance (don't navigate through applications menu)
    - Downgrade to menu-cache 0.3.3
    - Navigate through menu://aplications (now it works!)
    - Update to menu-cache 0.4.1

Then pcmanfm and applications menu work fine, and multiple pcmanfm instances are allowed.

But there's still a problem. Starting with 0.4.1 the problem is not solved, and starting with 0.3.3 is a critical bug: the screen is completely blank and the machine is unusable. So the down/up-grade must be done after every boot.

    Wish this information helps.

I hope this issue is fixed by latest commit into menu-cache GIT. Thank you very much.

Does indeed seem to be fixed by using the latest menu-cache from git.

I've just installed menu-cache-git, pcmanfm-git and libfm-git from the AUR scripts in Arch. The problem had gone worst, now clicking on Applications button closes pcmanfm (no error mesages, the pcmanfm task just closes).

I'm not sure if this is the same bug or a new one. I've replaced 28 may libfm-git with an old package I built on April 3 (with the same Arch's AUR script) and the problem is completely gone.

    Wish this information helps

Thank you very much. The problem you've described in the latest comment is nothing else but crash and it is present in the latest libfm since May, 5th and it is already fixed by commit 791d409ce6f00972a5ef98a8fa033dbc4cfc5573 in another branch, that fix will go into libfm master branch later.
