the template-based type conversions would be trivial to integrate into 
your existing structure.

The sources: If you have the s11n src tree:
  libs11n_acme-VERSION/src/property_store.?pp
A couple other classes in that dir subclass that one:
  environment.?pp
  argv_parser.?pp
