Plugin Bugs item #1798487, was opened at 2007-09-19 20:52 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=627102&aid=1798487&group_id=25576 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Random Names Module Group: To be Fixed for 5.14 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Kevin Fernandes (darkstorm999) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Random names structure buttons duplicate Initial Comment: Some of the Random Name structure buttons modify more than one part of the generated name when selected. For example, if the structure is [A][B][A], in some cases when clicking the second [A] button, the name generated replaces the first and second occurrence of [A] in the structure. It looks like either an issue with the way the different rules are defined in the XML or possibly the fact that the rules are stored in a hash table based on rule names. Or possibly even a combination of both of these. Here are the catalog and structures that seem to exhibit this issue. Catalog: Frank, Structure: [Given][Also Known As][Given] Catalog: Roman, Structure: [Nomen][Cognomen][Agnomen] Catalog: Russion, Structure: [Christian Name][Russian Patrynomic][Russian Patrynomic] + 2 others Catalog: Arabic Location, Structure: [Prefix][Prefix][Arabic Location] Catalog: Fantasy Ships, Structure: [Name]['s][Name] I tried to find them all but there may still be others. Note that there are some structures that look like they would exhibit this problem but they do not so it leads me to believe it is more on the XML side rather than the hash tables, but I have not looked further into it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=627102&aid=1798487&group_id=25576 |

[A] and [C] can still source their data from the same list, but it ensures that they are altered independently from one another. It gets more complicated in some of the other cases...
