Lists Enchanter in the example. Wow, didn't see that... but I do believe that would be a doc bug, especially given Tom's comment on how they are keyed. IIRC, I discovered this while working on some WotC subclass or another long ago, so I've done it the way I detailed in my last message ever since. Flagging for the Tracker Monkeys. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Maredudd (maredudd800) Date: 2008-04-07 10:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1569765 Originator: YES I've reopened this tracker as the original intent was incorrect. Sublasses can be included in the CLASSES tag with a caviat as stated below, compiments of taluroniscandar: [BUG]Re: Classes and Subclasses and Spells > > 5.13.10 and in my opinion after reading this, a bug. > > Not a bug... you cannot assign spells to a subclass, nor has PCGen ever been > able to (at least via the CLASSES tag in the spell.lst). > > And it really doesn't need to... you give the base class the spells that > every subclass has, via SPELLLIST or entries in the spell.lst file, and then > use KNOWNSPELLS in the subclass lines to add those spells (to the *base > class* list) that are not the same among all the subclasses. Incorrect. Not a bug. User is not adding all the necessary tags. You can do this. The RSRD Psion DOES this. You just need to add the subclass to the SPELLLIST tag SPELLLIST:2|Psion|Telepath SPELLLIST:2|Wizard|Abjurer SPELLLIST:2|Bubba|Gump SPELLLIST:2|Bubba|Shrimp Place the SPELLLIST tag in the subclass lines not in the class lines. See the Psion for a working example. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Michael Gray (mhgj) Date: 2008-04-07 10:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=291656 Originator: NO If the info about subclass being used in the CLASSES tag was removed, please put it back. subclass etries are valid there and have been so for over three years. Make a note to add the subclass to the SPELLLIST tag in the relevant subclass writeup. That is what was causing the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Maredudd (maredudd800) Date: 2008-04-07 00:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1569765 Originator: YES Docs updated. svn #5829 Tracker to be closed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=748234&aid=1936418&group_id=25576 |
