Category: Other Group: To be fixed For 5.12 >Status: Pending Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: NPC Generator not always generating Initial Comment: >From boards: ------------------------------------------ Well, my saga continues with the NPC Generator. I have one laptop (previously described) where it just seems to be random (literally :( as to whether it will work or not. I have tried all manner of JREs, 1.5.0_10 up 1.6.0_2 (including all version in between). My conclusion is that its an environmental issue on the machine. I tried it on two other machines (another laptop and and desktop box, both Windows XP SP2) and it works...to a point...I get the alignment, race and class as expected (YAY!!) but stats are another issue. The best I can pin down so far is if its a core class type (fighter, cleric, etc.) then I get stats always, but if its something else (animal, elemental, undead, etc.) then I seem to never get stats. That goes for all machines I have tried it on so far. So I guess I will not be using my original laptop for PCGen, at least until I can figure out what is going on with the JRE (or whatever the problem might be). ------------------------------------------ When I briefly looked into it for the user, one of the stack traces suggeted that the last class level added to the NPC could not be determined when refresing the summary screen ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2007-07-17 14:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Originator: YES Unfortunately we still can't reproduce this (after literally hundreds of runs). I can only recommend trying a fresh install of pcgen (making sure the location of all of the config files are somewhere brand new as well) - K ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1754256&group_id=25576 |
