Category: Feat Support Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 6 Submitted By: Paul W. King (kingpaul) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: test for class skills Initial Comment: In Modern, Occupations grant skills. If the skill in question is a class skill, the charater receives a bonus on that skill; if it is not, it becomes a class skill. There needs to be a method to do a one-time test on whether or not a skill is a class skill. Paul W. In 5.9.1 there is a new PRECSKILL tag, see the current docs for the entry. We can probably update the occupations for this now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul W. King (kingpaul) Date: 2004-09-03 07:26 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=277877 In RPG Objects' (and we have carte blanche for their products) book Blood and Guts: Modern Military, the feat Jump School grants a list of 3 skills as class skills or a +1 on them if they already are. Now, Doug's Occupation solution works rather well for this methodolgy since there's only 6 classes to test on. However, this would require knowledge of *every* AdC and PrC for modern to write properly. Therefore, a method to do a 1-time test on current class skills is needed. I say one time because, if I understand items correctly, the PRExxx logic is a continual test. So, if the test for CSKILL fails, it grants CSKILL. Then, the bonus logic sees that its a class skill and grants the +1 bonus. Paul W. If the xxx selects a skill that is already a class skill for him, he gains a +2 talent bonus to that skill. The twist here is that it requires a chooser. There are also some other talents that are simpler in that they give bonus/cskill to SkillA and SkillB. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384722&aid=965469&group_id=25576 |
