Resurrection and Refactor

This project is being refactored and resurrected. There is a plethora of CD Ripping and Encoding frontends, most are GUI-based, and most are pretty decent. There is not, however, a solid suite of tools that automate ripping and addition to a library for a truly multi-user network environment.

PCDE will become a full Perl-based networked CD Encoding Environment -- PCDE^2, if you will.

The user process might work like this:
- Stick a CD in the drive of a client machine, and run the PCDE rip/encode application; this downloads the network's idea of what defaults encodings and quality settings should be, and performs the encoding process.
- The user's browser starts, and displays the Disc Upload page, allowing that user to publish their music to the network, where it will be added to the library.... read more
