Installation fails if the installation directory already exists

I've updated from 15.08.10 to 15.08.11, and I forgot to run the uninstaller first. Instead, I simply emptied /opt/pcbasic. The installer apparently worked fine, but it didn't: the contents of /opt/pcbasic were a build directory and uninstall.sh, and of course the links in /usr/ were broken.

Since the uninstaller removes the installation dir, everything works fine when the uninstaller is used before installing a new version, but maybe a check could be included in the installer, just in case. In fact, the bug is the uninstaller thinks the installation was successful in this case, when the installation dir already existed.

Thanks for letting me know - I'll see if I can fix this. In the long run I'll probably get rid of the install script altogether and let pip handle everything, but that may be further off.
