OK, there is news from the sleeping-front: I figured out that the gnome-powermanager was causing the trouble. If I kill the gnome-powermanager process, the system is able to sleep on closed lid. Any suggestion how I could keep the powermanager from gnome and let the system sleep on closed lid?
