Hi, I'm sorry, this mail might be totally off topic, but I didn't manage to find a real user-related linuxppc ML and didn't feel like posting on linuxppc-devel was a good idea. I'm posting here because I feel this is a somewhat powermanagement problem. Please, feel free to flame if there is a more appropriate ML ;) I have an iBook 12" from 06/2005. And I find that, compared to what I have seen with OS X, the fans are on much more often. Is this normal ? I guess the "adt746x: Lowering max temperatures from 69, 92, 101 to 70, 50, 70" in my logs can explain that, but I wanted to be sure it was the normal behavior and not something to worry about. Moreover (and this is my real problem which I think may be related to the above), the computer sometimes freezes or suddenly reboots. Whenever this happens, the fans are always (by the noise) at their maximum speed. This behavior started around the time (can't be more precise I'm affraid:-/ ) I dumped pmud for pbbuttonsd to do all the job. Maybe I'm missing something or made a mistake. Google was not so chatty about this problem... For information: Linux gloduk 2.6.13-gentoo-r3 #2 Sun Nov 6 17:43:59 CET 2005 ppc 7447A, altivec supported PowerBook6,5 GNU/Linux pbbuttonsd, version 0.7.2, (c) 2002-2005 Matthias Grimm I'm really at a loss, so any hint or detail on how it is for you will be largely appreciated. --=20 Olivier Mehani <sh...@ss...> PGP fingerprint: 3720 A1F7 1367 9FA3 C654 6DFB 6845 4071 E346 2FD1 |
