Welcome to the PathNinja wiki!

With this tool you can:

(1) Edit the PATH, PATHEXT, and file associations in one application.

(2) Quickly setup Python, Perl, or other scripting language to run like a native windows script from the PowerShell Window.

(3) Quickly, add your favorite editor or bin of tools to the search PATH.

(4) Quickly search for EXE's and DLL's in your PATH.

This code was developed for windows 10, however it may work with windows 7 and 8 if you download the appropriate dot.net library.

Tips on usage

Appending to the path is a two step process.

Step 1: click the browse button and then select the directory that you want to add to the PATH

Step 2: click the append button

*Note: Anything marked as "sys" or "HKLM" requires that you run the application as "Administrator" before modifying the variable. To do that, right click on the program's excutable and select "Run As Administrator". (In contrast anything marked as "user" or "HKCU" is changable without Administator privillege.)

Sorry, I didn't feel like shelling out $100 for 1 year to sign my programs. If you get a smartscreen filter block, here's how to disable it.

Step 1: Click Windows start menu

Step 2: Click small gear icon on the left hand side of start menu.

Step 3: Type in Find String TextBox "App & browse control"

Step 4: Turn off "Check apps and files. Windows smartscreen help protect...blahblah..."
