I am runing Linux Mint with a MATE Desktop as follows:
System:
Host: haha Kernel: 6.8.0-58-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: MATE v: 1.26.2 Distro: Linux Mint 22.1 Xia
The problem with Password Safe on my Linux Desktop happens randomly after startup. It takes a while to finally open. And then I can't do anything at all with it ( no typing in the text, or select anything on the client ).
The client does appear on the desktop and I can move it around the desktop. But it will not even close properly. I have to use the FORCE option to close option for it and that take a while to complete.
One other problem that I noticed is when Password Safe has the issue, inxi -F will pause after the CPU Section. Graphics is then next section in inxi -F after CPU. inxi -F takes 61 seconds to complete during the problem with Password Safe. inxi -f takes around 1 second when everything is working properly.
I installed and tried the 6.11 Linux Kernel, but Password Safe had the same problem. So I went back to the 6.8 Linux Kernel.
I tried several different versions of Password Safe and they all had the same problem. Currently I have
Password Safe v1.21, Build Date April 10, 2025 installed and it to has the frozen Password Safe Desktop App.
I even did a full reinstall of Linux Mint 22.1 to make sure there was anything corrupted. But the Password Safe App still freezes up.
Would you please let me know if you need any system output to try figure out this problem and fix it?
Thank you,
Roy
After I got a bunch of software updates today, my PasswordSafe v1.21 on Linux started working again.
Thank you Rony and team for this wonderful product that helps a lot people with their security.
I shutdown and powered off my desktop last night.
After power up and boot up this morning, the original symptoms with inxi and password safe are both back.
I wished that I knew how to troubleshoot this problem.
