This is essentially a revival of ticket #471. I commented on that one but realized since it is closed, it may not receive any attention, thus, a new ticket.
Same error as before, on app startup:
Failed to load Autotype support DLL (wrong version?).
Autotype for Launch of a Browser or Running a command is disabled.
This is error is "new" error as of version 3.60. v3.58 and all previous versions for some time are not affected. Error kicked off on my first startup after upgrading from v3.58 (possibly may have been v3.59) to v3.60.
Running Windows 10 (x64) natively (i.e., not a Wine environment). No recent change in AV software.
Looks like the autotype dll, pws_at.dll, is missing or corrupted, since the version hasn't changed in a long time.
Depending on whether you've installed the 32 bit or 64 bit version of PasswordSafe, this is in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Password Safe or C:\Program Files\Password Safe folder, resp.
You might want to extract pws_at.dll directly from https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.60.0/pwsafe-3.60.0-bin.zip/download or https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.60.0/pwsafe64-3.60.0-bin.zip/download
and place it in the relevant Password Safe folder.
Let me know how it goes.
Upon further investigation, it appears I installed the 32-bit version of 3.60, having used the 64-bit version previously. So, I uninstalled 3.60, downloaded the 64-bit installer, re-installed, and all is working swimmingly now. Thank you. File this one under I/O error (Idiot Operator).
Thanks for the update. I prefer filing under PBCAK (problem between chair and keyboard)...
