Hi, I'd like to release PasswordSafe 3. 69.0 in a week or so . As usual, I've setup a prerelease for testing and translators in https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/PreReleases/3.69.0pre/ The 'pos' directory in the above link has the texts to be translated in the .po files. Translators are invited to mail me the updated po files for inclusion in the next release (or create pull requests on GitHub <https://github.com/pwsafe/pwsafe>), or (new) use transifex <https://www.transifex.com/passwordsafe/passwordsafe/>. "pre-release" means that there may be more bugfixes until the formal release, but no user-visible changes (texts in particular should remain unchanged). Thanks, Rony -- Ubi dubium, ibi libertas (where there is doubt, there is freedom) |

Hi, This is to announce the release of PasswordSafe version 3.68 for Windows. This is a maintenance release, fixing a few minor issues, as described below. Thanks to Bjorne, dskrvk, huven, nobugshere and rafaelx for their help in this release. Thanks also to all the users who have provided bug reports, suggestions, and the occasional donation... New features in 3.68.0 ---------------------- * In this release, PasswordSafe will significantly increase the standard (default) unlock difficulty of PasswordSafe databases. This may cause a noticeable slowdown when reading and writing databases. This is necessary to maintain the same level of security on today's hardware as when PasswordSafe was originally released. * [GH1439] PasswordSafe now uses the system text color and background instead of assuming black and white, respectively. Bugs Fixed in 3.68.0 ----------------------- * [GH1408] Time fields (such as password modification time) are now copied over correctly in sync operations between databases. The PasswordSafe2Go version will be updated soon and available from https://pwsafe.org/dok.shtml (Owners of previous releases are invited to contact me for an update) The Windows release may be downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/ (Newest Files): Installers: 32 bit installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/pwsafe-3.68.0.exe/download 64 bit installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/pwsafe64-3.68.0.exe/download Zip file with binaries (for those who don't like installers) 32 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/pwsafe-3.68.0-bin.zip/download 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/pwsafe64-3.68.0-bin.zip/download Microsoft installer 32 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/pwsafe-3.68.0.msi/download 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/pwsafe64-3.68.0.msi/download Source code https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.68.0/3.68.0%20source%20code.zip/download SHA-1 checksums: 68d6618b41455ffe0afe69980f9aa4824b198d0a *pwsafe-3.68.0.exe 0137cc812bd3372b78b23cd1f68917679bb0d106 *pwsafe-3.68.0.msi 78f26966aa06c7a14c080151d55849a9afed44eb *pwsafe64-3.68.0.exe 2e00f5c046447c53aa747b501fe69daf643da8d5 *pwsafe64-3.68.0.msi 3effe0c0c57bc7d97b67142e3876d633bc2e2f4e *pwsafe-3.68.0-bin.zip 65e32380ef081ac21048c853675b2fd4b7a78f8e *pwsafe64-3.68.0-bin.zip 299a2a5f13b1ff7522c49b3e8013372b6c06e909 *pwsafe-3.68.0-src.zip The Linux versions should be ready in a few days, and will be announced on the passwordsafe-linux mailing list. Hi, I'd like to release PasswordSafe 3.6 8 in a couple of weeks . As usual, I've setup a prerelease for testing and translators in https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/PreReleases/3.68.0pre/ Note that this release significantly increases the standard (default) unlock difficulty of PasswordSafe databases. Your database will be updated when you save it. The result should be a noticeable (but I hope acceptable) delay when opening the database the next time. This is necessary to maintain the same level of security on today's hardware as when PasswordSafe was originally released. If you find the delay too annoying . please let me know, along with the hardware you're using (32 or 64 bit architecture, and CPU model and speed). As usual, The 'pos' directory in the above link has the texts to be translated in the .po files. Translators are invited to mail me the updated po files for inclusion in the next release (or create pull requests on GitHub <https://github.com/pwsafe/pwsafe>), or (new) use transifex <https://www.transifex.com/passwordsafe/passwordsafe/>. Thanks to Bjorne, dskrvk, huven, hxu1, nobugshere and rafaelx for their help in this release. Thanks also to all the users who have provided bug reports, suggestions, and the occasional donation... New features in 3.67.0 ================= * [GH1301], [SF918] TOTP authorization code can be used in autotype via '\2' * [SF921] Ctrl-Backspace now clears password fields, both for entries and master passwords. * [SF912] If a view filter is active when a database is closed, it will be activated the next time the database is opened. Hi, I'd like to release PasswordSafe 3.65 in a couple of weeks . This release adds support for "one time passwords (OTP). As usual, I've setup a prerelease for testing and translators in https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/PreReleases/3.65.0pre/ The 'pos' directory in the above link has the texts to be translated in the .po files. Thanks, Rony |

Hi, I'd like to release PasswordSafe 3.64.1 over the coming weekend. As usual, I've setup a prerelease for testing and translators in https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/PreReleases/3.64.1pre/ The user-visible change in this release is the ability to disable screen capture protection at installation time. The 'pos' directory in the above link has the texts to be translated in the .po files, which are used by the application. The 'nsis' directory has the texts to be translated for the NSIS (.exe) installers. Note that this time I've used machine translation to jumpstart the process. I'd be very interested in feedback on how this looks. The texts that were added are all related to "screen capture", so you can search for that term directly in the .po and .lng (nsis) files. Thanks, Rony |

Rather than struggle with the WIN32 build, I switched to the x64 build MFC and I was successful. In case others have the trouble building I followed the instructions in the Cmake readme, Rather than the Windows developer readme and had success. Thank you for the feedback. This appears to be much more promising than the .sln file in the project folder. 1. I installed Cmake from cmake.org 2. Created _build_mfc_2022_x86 folder for VS2022 output Win32 3. Ran Configure and receive the output below. Most notably it was unable to find Kernel32.lib I don’t know what to update to fix this problem. I suspect there will be other missing .libs once I fix this unless the fix includes an additional library folder. I am new to Cmake. What should I do next? Here is the output of Configure. Generally, I recently successfully used Win11 Pro w/the cmake steps <https://github.com/AshleyT3/pwsafe/blob/master/README.CMAKE.md> to produce VS project files in ...\pwsafe\_build_mfc which I ended up using with VS2019. Hello All, This may not be the best place to post this message. I have not been able to find a better place. I am struggling to build this (or any) version of pwsafe. I tried a number of things before resorting to asking for help here. I am using Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition with virtually all of the optional components installed I have reviewed README.WINDOWS.DEVELOPERS.html and believe I have done everything. BTW, this document seems to be a bit out-of-date. I am using pwsafe-15.sln which I assume is appropriate for 2017 based on the discussion of Microsoft naming. I have been battling with a series of cannot open source file... errors such as: I have searched for instances of for example type_traits and attempted to add the corresponding include file to the build, just to get around this error. I suspect I am missing an SDK or library. What am I missing? Hi, This is to announce the release of PasswordSafe version 3.63 for Windows. This is a maintenance release, fixing a few minor issues, as described below. Thanks to AshelyT3, Bjorne, dhocker, henricj, jdmdmdm, glathe, nobugshere, pm_kan and rafaelx for their help in this release. Thanks also to all the users who have provided bug reports, suggestions, and the occasional donation... Bugs fixed in 3.63.0 -------------------- * [GH966] Default font sizes for hi-res displays corrected (Windows). * [SF1572] [GH959] Opening via system tray icon now focuses correctly on Windows 11. The fix was to change the trigger from double-click to a single click, which is consistent with other system tray icons, but is a change for PasswordSafe. * [SF1565] Dialog box texts in Czech are now rendered correctly (this should also apply to other non-Latin languages). * [GH946] Expiration dates are now the last second of the specified date, instead of the first minute. This resolves a minor inconsistency. * [GH945] Document passphrase parameters in pwsafe-cli. Changes in 3.63.0 ----------------- * Installer executable now has the "PasswordSafe" icon instead of the default NSIS Icon. * Latvian is now supported, thanks to Jurcuks. The PasswordSafe2Go version will be updated soon and available from https://pwsafe.org/dok.shtml (Owners of previous releases are invited to contact me for an update) The Windows release may be downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/ (Newest Files): Installers: 32 bit installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe-3.63.0.exe/download 64 bit installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe64-3.63.0.exe/download <https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe64-3.63.0.exe/download> Zip file with binaries (for those who don't like installers) 32 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe-3.63.0-bin.zip/download 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe64-3.63.0-bin.zip/download Microsoft installer 32 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe-3.63.0.msi/download 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe64-3.63.0.msi/download Source code https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.63.0/pwsafe-3.63.0-src.zip/download SHA-1 checksums: 374c42d963018d7d3ac89657414eae4b6b8afcea *pwsafe-3.63.0.exe 8ef7fd8498091e4467c35ddb0973a7f305cc5614 *pwsafe-3.63.0.msi e6c6e10dcd1c08409b7bd4da59a25c3a5f395105 *pwsafe64-3.63.0.exe 3e3138b211f20cf5919ca52fe6ebeb8d05d008f3 *pwsafe64-3.63.0.msi b3edf183bef5398e374994b934c939a8d9a20657 *pwsafe-3.63.0-bin.zip 9157f83d01a94cb2cfed7178b694c2c04af1bb72 *pwsafe64-3.63.0-bin.zip 723f12742e99f5d5d901dcb56a58ea0c239c33ae *pwsafe-3.63.0-src.zip The Linux versions should be ready in a few days, and will be announced on the passwordsafe-linux mailing list. Hi, I'd like to release PasswordSafe 3.63 in a week or so . As usual, I've setup a prerelease for testing and translators in https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/PreReleases/3.63pre/ The 'pos' directory in the above link has the texts to be translated in the .po files. I don't think there are any new texts to be added/changed from the last release, but feel free to check me. Thanks, Rony |

Hi, This is to announce the release of PasswordSafe version 3.62 for Windows. This is a maintenance release, fixing a few minor issues, as described below. Thanks to Amr, Bjorne, Henric and pm_kan for their help in this release. Thanks also to all the users who have provided bug reports, suggestions, and the occasional donation... Bugs fixed in 3.62.0 -------------------- * [SF1570] PasswordSafe no longer crashes when adding a new entry in a filtered view. Changes in 3.62.0 ----------------- * Text (CSV) import is more lenient in what it accepts, to ease importing data from other password managers. * When the password is shown, the "Confirm Password:" text is hidden, as the confirmation text box is used to display the length of the password. Hopefully this makes things less confusing. * [SF890] "Recurring" checkbox is now set by default, as this seems to be the more common use-case when setting password expiration in days. The PasswordSafe2Go version will be updated soon and available from http://www.shareit.com/product.html?cart=1&productid=300597408&stylefrom=300597408 (Owners of previous releases are invited to contact me for an update) The Windows release may be downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/ (Newest Files): Installers: 32 bit installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe-3.62.0.exe/download 64 bit installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe64-3.62.0.exe/download Zip file with binaries (for those who don't like installers) 32 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe-3.62.0-bin.zip/download 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe64-3.62.0-bin.zip/download Microsoft installer 32 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe-3.62.0.msi/download 64 bit https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe64-3.62.0.msi/download Source code https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/Windows/3.62.0/pwsafe-3.62.0-src.zip/download SHA-1 checksums: 608bc48258cb3fd5fd38c24703a85813cd5f2e7c *pwsafe-3.62.0.exe c101ec7ac4c17b1aaa7245c82f64c4d9eec99800 *pwsafe-3.62.0.msi 19c1d6fdadfd5808416f6577fd676cc1cc622162 *pwsafe64-3.62.0.exe 667a054f945e2888ad4a169f05b0895d95571a0c *pwsafe64-3.62.0.msi c4c4fccc03641a4bb6ef54531af82f5c8592f982 *pwsafe-3.62.0-bin.zip c36b0a2bdee832c41e010caaeede426e38c456c7 *pwsafe64-3.62.0-bin.zip 8206976f7892038ff670b7e0b3bc4da51a56d9eb *pwsafe-3.62.0-src.zip The Linux versions should be ready in a few days, and will be announced on the passwordsafe-linux mailing list. Hi, I'd like to release PasswordSafe 3.62 in a couple of weeks . As usual, I've setup a prerelease for testing and translators in https://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/files/PreReleases/3.62pre/ I've made a significant change in the texts this time, replacing "Safe Combination" with "Master Password". My feeling is that by now most people are familiar with the concept of passwords, and the physical "safe combination" metaphor is a bit dated. (Text has only been replaced in the program, will work on the help files, website and Linux version over the next week or so.) The result is that there are about a dozent texts to be updated in the po files. In terms of functionality, I've updated the text import feature so that it should be possible to import password records exported from LastPass without too much effort. Any testing of this would be much appreciated. "pre-release" means that there may be more bugfixes until the formal release, but no user-visible changes (texts in particular should remain unchanged). Thanks, Rony |
