[Passwordsafe-users] Feedback on passwordsafe V3.0

Hi,

Thanks for the new version, looks good to me. I'm a daily user of this
program, on my PC at home as well as mobile and I am very pleased with =
it.=20

I want to give some feedback on the new version:

The first thing I tried after I installed the new version is the =
autotype
feature. I have an account that requires a Username and Password, =
followed
by three fields that need the information about my birthday in a format =
like
DD MM YYYY. Switching between the fields can be done with tabs.
In the previous version I put in the Notes field the following string:
autotype:\u\t\p\t\15\t\02\t\1956 that gave an error within the fields =
with a
text like "error resolving windows...."?
In the new version V3 I put the string "\u\t\p\t\15\t\02\t\1956" =
(without
the quotes) in the autotype field. This results in filling the username =
and
password field correctly, but the date and the month field both get =
filled
with "\B" and the year field is filled with "\B95" (all without the =
quotes)
in stead of 15<tab>02<tab>1956.

Is it something that I do in the wrong way?
Or is this an issue that can be addressed in the next version?

After quite a lot of work, PasswordSafe 3.0 is ready for its first =
public
release.

There are some nice user-visible new features in this version. In =
addition,
the database format has been revised according to best security and
cryptographic practices. We feel that this format will be highly
attack-resistant for the forseeable future.

Aside from DK and Dave Collins, who've contributed code to this release, =
I'd
like to thank the members of the passwordsafe-devel mailing list for =
many
fruitful, challenging and well-spirited discussions on all aspects of =
the
new database format (The format itself is described in the formatv3.txt =
file
in the source distribution.). I'd also like to thank all the users =
who've
patiently reported bugs and suggested new features for this application.

NOTES:

1. This is still a BETA release! It should NOT be used as the only tool =
for
storing "real" password information.
2. This release will read databases saved by previous versions of
PasswordSafe. When saving a database, make sure that the new database =
will
have the "psafe3" suffix. This will guarantee that your old database is =
not
overwritten. If you do over-write it by mistake, you can export to old
formats from this version, with no loss of data.
3. The purpose of this release is to gather feedback on bugs, on the new
features, and on other features you wish to see implemented. Please =

[731841] Database format is changed to use newer encryption algorithm
(Twofish replaces Blowfish). Also, the integrity of the database is now
checked.
