#685 erase userid/password before autotyping

Code Monkey

This bank's website fills the userid with 3 numbers when anyone visits.
This foils autotype.
It would be great if Password Safe would erase the userid/password before typing.
Might help in other cases too. Like retrying.

Thanks for a great program!

You might want to play with a custom autotype field for the relevant entry. Specifically, I'd try putting in \b, which translates to the backspace key.
See the online help, Using PasswordSafe -> Using Auto Type for more details.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I upgraded to the latest: v3.29
    And tried \b\b\b\u\t\p\n
but the effect was the same as before. Like the backspacing wasn't happening.
Too bad. I guess I'll have to keep clearing the field manually.
Or I could but put userid sans the first 3 character in the autotype string.
I still think clearing seems like a useful enhancement if possible.
BTW, you can try autotyping at that website without an account. The error
page gives the userid you entered. Thanks again.
