Launch any app, not just URLs
Popular easy-to-use and secure password manager

Password Safe would be more general purpose if you could launch any application rather than just a URL. There are many desktop applicaitons, particularly in business, that require a password (e.g. Quicken, etc.). If I could launch that application and keep (a more secure) password in pwsafe, it would improve security overall.
This would require, IMHO:
1) A "launch" field which could be a URL or a program name with relative or absolute path
2) An "auto-type" field to clearly indicate what should be typed and in what order.

Hi James,
Makes sense - thanks! This will be implemented in 3.0.

I just discovered and started using this great program. I
was just wondering if it would be best to add a
new "launch" field separate from the "URL" field. That
way you could specify what browser you wanted to use with
a particular URL instead of the program automatically
launching the default browser. In my case, I always try
to avoid using Internet Explorer, but sometimes you just
have to use it.

It would be extremely nice to have a way to call an external
program and actually pass variables from PS to it. I suppose
you could still use the clipboard but with more than just
the password. You could write it in the same manner as an
INI file, like this;
[<title>]</span><br> username='<username>'<br> password='<password>'<br> url='<someplace>'</p> <p>I think it would be very easy for any external program to<br> pick this up out of the clipboard and create an array out of it!</p> <p>For example; We use VB scripts (www.autoitscript.com) to<br> automate tasks such as logging into a website and performing<br> some task. Obviously :) we'd like to use PS to save the<br> login credentials.</p> <p>Thank you,<br> Jason</p></title>
