After upgrading to 3.26, when I expand a tree and copy a password, then
collapse the tree, after minimizing or locking Password Safe window, then
unlock or re-open Password Safe the tree is again expanded and the last copied
entry is highlighted. If I expand another tree, copy a password and collapse
all trees, upon re-opening the window all trees that I have previously copied
passwords from are expanded again.
This was offered as a solution last year https://sourceforge.net/projects/pas
swordsafe/forums/forum/134801/topic/3540864, but I couldn't get it to work
with "Same as when last saved." mode. However, at least I got it work in
"fully collapsed" mode, which is at least workable. Make sure to exit and
then restart the program to ensure your settings are saved.
I already had the Initial Tree View option set to "Fully collapsed." I just
tried setting it to "Same as when last saved," saved the db, closed and
restarted Password Safe, but it still does it.
Try switching between Fully Expanded and Fully Collapsed (and exiting after
each change). It did work for me (went from fully explanded to fully collapsed
and stayed fully collapsed upon future restarts of the program). I think
there's something wrong with the "Same as when last saved", so don't try using
that setting (at least for the test). I'm just glad I now have it collapsed.
BTW, I'm also using v3.26, running Windows XP Pro w/SP2
I have tried every suggestion that was made, every combination of
protected/unprotected, RO/OW database, collapsing before minimizing, etc., yet
version 3.26 on XP Pro SP3 re-expands the previously collapsed tree every
single time that the app is "restored" from my system tray -- this is simply a
bug, where can bug reports be sent? Thanks.
For whatever it's worth, I have the same problem with 3.26. Once expanded, a
branch will not stay collapsed. My initial tree view is "Fully Collapsed"
