I created a new database file on 2011-02-20 (psafe3 format). I created several
groups and named one incorrectly. I went to rename it, but the item was grayed
out (both in the edit menu and the context menu). Then I tried to delete it,
but I couldn't do that either (same problem: grayed out). The database was NOT
opened read only. I repeated this several times. Why can I not delete an empty

Win7 pro x64, installed with pwsafe-3.24.1.exe in "green" mode on an external
    ESATA drive.

    Thanks for the detailed description.

The thing to keep in mind with groups is that they don't really 'exist' until
there's at least one entry underneath the group. Specifically, if you save a
database with empty groups, then when you re-open it, none of the empty groups
will exist. This is due to the design of PasswordSafe, and is unlikely to

Having said that, the inability to rename an empty group is odd - I'll look
    into it.
