I've been using 2.11 for years without issue. Today, pasted passwords show the
    actual password.

I upgraded to 3.24.1 and the issue persists. What am I missing?

    Win XP/SP3, IE8

The display of data in any application is up to that application. There is
nothing the program that places the data in the clipboard (in this case
PasswordSafe) can specify or do to influence this.

So pasting data into Word would normally be in clear. Pasting data into an IE
web page field that is expecting, say a user name, would also be in clear.
Pasting data into an IE web page field that is expecting, say a password,
should not be in clear - but it is up to the designer of the web page to make
that field display asterisks or some other characters instead of the actual
    characters.

Ok, thanks. In all the time I've used PWS, I never had a password display. To
then have it do so on two different sites had me convinced something was
    wrong.

But I tried my banking site and a credit card site and both passwords were
    still hidden.

So I guess it's fine after all.

No problem. However, you might want to get in touch with the owners of those 2
web sites and suggest that they mask the passwords entered.

Alternatively, you want to see if a different browser masks them (e.g.
Google's Chrome or Moziila's Firefox) and some sites have a check box or
option so that the user can specify that they want the passwords to be in
    clear or masked.
