I have the old(er) 3.0Beta1 version of PWSafe and am trying to update.

I am reading the forums and am trying to do the exports, change columns etc...
most of which I THINK I understand, but here's my problem.

ANY file that I am "exporting" shows as a "locked" file that I can ONLY view
while I'm selecting it within the PW program!

I have my folder settings to show all hidden files etc, but I cannot view
these files to open them in word, or erasure for that matter!

HOW do I access my exported files?? PLS help, I'm feeling REALLY stupid at
    this point... <sigh>

    PS, in case it's pertinent: Win7 - 64bit

Whew! 3.0Beta1 is, er, chronologically challenged...

    Here's what I suggest:

    1. With 3.0Beta1, create a 'dummy' database and add a couple of entries.
    2. Export the dummy database to a text file, and send me the result (ronys at users dot sf net).

We'll take it offline from there...

Thanks Rony, but here's what I'm encountering. I created a new database using
my old 3.0Beta1, but when I try to save it, I get the message

The original database "", is in pre-3.0 format. The data will now be written
in the new format, which is unusable by old versions of PWS. To save the data
in the old format, use the "File->Export To->Old(1.x or 2) format" command.

Press OK to continue saving, or Cancel to stop.

Now if I continue, is it going to defeat whatever purpose you need the "beta
database" to be saved in the first place? I'm not sure why it's trying to save
it in a different version, I'm using my original 3.0Beta1 version program.

Also, the "txt" file that I exported earlier, do you know WHY I can't "view"
or "select" it from any program outside of PWS? I downloaded that Erasure
program, but can't access it to erase it!

My work around there was export to a flash drive, but I'm afraid I'm just not
sure how to go about following the instructions to put it in columns, then
open the 3.1 export file and open in a table... I'm not a big "office" user. I
feel really stupid when I get in these forums... lol Should I go ahead and
save in the new format and send you that file?

    PS Thanks for your help!!
