I opened my safe on a new phone (Android 10) and entered a new item. Closed password safe. Now when I try to open the safe I get Error - java.lang.illegalArguementEsception: length. My safe is stored in the cloud and I get the error on all my devices that have access to the drive. I can open different safes fine. My version is 6.20.2. Any thoughts?

I'm the author of the Android app. Do you recall the new item you added and all of its fields? Can you reproduce the issue on a new test file that you can post? What software did you use to create the file before editing it on Android?

I don't remeber the exact entry. I just added a new password entry basically - title, username and password. Don't believe it was anything fancy from what I can recall. When it fails the only option I get it copy trace and close. I am not able to reporduce on a new test file. I created the new entry on Andriod phone.

Which version of Password Safe were you using on the PC? Or, perhaps, were you using Password Gorilla? Was the file a .psafe3 file or .dat? Do you have any password policies in the file or specific records?

Password safe version 6.20.2 on Samsung 20UW. I don't know what password Gorilla is so I'm pretty sure I'm not using it or have it loaded. The file is a .psafe3. I don't know about password policies, maybe it's been a long time since I set things up and it's just worked until now.

I am having the same issue trying to move/use a .psafe3 file from my windows laptop to my Samsung S23 android phone. My android tablet (Tab S9 FE) did not have a problem opening the same .psafe3 file that I am trying to install on my S23 cell phone. The exact error message looks like this on my cell phone.
PasswdSafe - Error
java.lang.SecurityException:
com.android.externalstorage has no access to content://media/external_primary/file/1000007147
Copy Trace and Close

I also tried to opening a .bak file using the USB cable transfer from my laptop to my cell phone and received the same error message.
Any suggestion to resolve this issue I'm having would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
