On my Windows machine, when I installed PWS 3.02 and ran it the first time, I saw 3 new files created: xxx.psafe3, xxx.psafe3.plk and psafe3~

What are they? Do they all need to stay together?

Not an answer to the above question, just an observation: The tool tray icon changes from green to red to indicate status of the database. Unfortunately, one out of 12 guys can't tell because that percentage of males are red-green colorblind.

Actually, we thought of that when designing the icons, if you'll look closeley, you'll see that they also have representations of open and closed padlocks in the red and green versions, resp.

        Improvements to graphics gratefully accepted...

      Hi,

      • .psafe3 is the actual database.
      • .plk is a "lock" file, used to indicate that the database is open already, and if so, by whom.
      • .psafe3~ is an automatic backup - it contains a copy of the database before the last save.

Bottom line: When copying or moving the database, you only need to take care of the .psafe3 file.

Thank you for the clarifications, Rony!
