Before clicking on the red X in the upper right corner to close the
PasswordSafe windows I always collapse all expanded entries. But everytime I
open the PasswordSafe window the same entries are expanded again. Sometimes it
will even expand other entries as well.

    How do I stop that?

I'm seeing this problem since a long time and I believe that it has been
    reported and discussed previously.

    Regards,

    Ulrich

I tried searching for such a discussion but apparently did not know how to
phrase the question. Can you point me to the discussion or tell me if a
solution or work-around was ever found?

    Thank you

I finally found the other discussions on this problem and it seems it has been
going on for several years. This problem is aggravating enough that I am
thinking about looking for a different program.

Are you planning to ever fix this????

This bug is annoying but I think it is far out of proportion to dump an
otherwise excellent program for such a nit. You can collapse the tree again
    with one mouse click.

And just how difficult would it be for the author to add an option that would
allow the program to open with all entires collapsed?

It also wouldn't hurt for the author to show some concern for his userbase. I
haven't seen where he answered a single post concerning this problem.

PasswordSafe is a program that, years ago, was created by Bruce Schneier who
later put in the public domain as open source. There is no single author of
the program, it is a community that works best effort. Maybe you should better
buy a commercial program like 1Password. I wouldn't say this is necessarily a
better program, but you have a single firm that you can hold responsible for
    their shortcomings.

Did you try setting Manage->Options->Display->Initial Tree View->Fully
    Collapsed?

If you did and it had no effect, please file a new bug report.

    Thanks,

    Rony

P.S. If you're unhappy with the support, I'll be happy to offer you a full
    refund :-)

That oprion works fine. When you first start the program all entires are
collapsed. It is from that point on that there is a problem. As you know
clicking the RedX takes it down to the task bar without closing it. Re-
activating it brings it back up with whatever entries you had expanded still
expanded. This happens even if you collapse all entries before clicking the X.
Occasionally there will be other random entries expanded as well.
