#718 Config file lock error

V3 (197)

Installed PasswordSafe 3.15.1 on XP SP3. 'Old' version is 3.14. Starting Passwordsafe using a non-administrator user account produces a warning message: "Failed to lock configuration file - opened by another instace of PasswordSafe?"

Re-installing 3.14 solves this (granting 'full access' to the config file probably will solve this for 3.15 too :) ).

Actually according to Sysinternals Process Monitor the error occurs because Password Safe cannot create a new file named something like passwd.plk in the Password Safe directory when it starts up. If you go in and change the permissions for that directory to "Modify" for limited users it works fine.

This regression still exists in 3.16. Permitting full access to a file (or files) in App-Dir is only a workaround, not a "fix". Please fix this in next version...

In 3.17 Beta 2 this seems to be working. Pwsafe still tries to write to passwd.plk in
the Password Safe directory, but don't stops if not possible. If so, it writes to the folder where the safe-file is stored, which is ok. So, works for me :-)
