With Password Safe v3.50 64-bit, running on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit, and an otherwise default configuration...

If I specify a Default Username under Options, Misc, when I create a new database entry the default username is inserted into the entry, as expected. However if I edit an existing entry to remove the username, leaving the username field blank (because that entry does not have an associated username), Password Safe keeps re-inserting the default value, when it ought not. (The help file says the default is for "new entries", not all entries that don't have something else as the username.)

It's useful to enable the default username, because most of the time when I create a new entry, I want to use the same username (my e-mail address), but I have a few entries that do not have usernames, and I'd like those to have a blank username field. It's misleading having a value for the username when there is no actual username associated with the entry. (E.g. BitLocker password for a flash disk, where "title" is the label on the flashdisk, but there is no username.)
