If you press the Esc key then the gui disappears but processes remain in the back ground meaning that a .lck file exists and the file cannot be opened again until the processes are killed manually.

As far as I can tell, this is not a bug and seems to be working as designed.

Escape works in a different way depending on whether you are using the System Tray or not. To set/unset the use of the System Tray, check/uncheck the first checkbox on Manage->Options System tab ("Put icon in System Tray").

If you are NOT using the System Tray, pressing escape will close the application. If you have any unsaved changes, you will be prompted as whether you wish to save them.

If you are using the System Tray, pressing Escape will minimise the application into the System Tray. You can then right-click the PasswordSafe icon in the System Tray to Restore the view or even Exit the application. You do not have to kill any processes manually.

One other preference, "Lock password database on minimize" (Manage->Options Security tab), affects this behaviour if using the System Tray. If not set and you have any unsaved entries, then the PasswordSafe is just minimised. However, if this is set, since locking removes any information from memory, the changes are saved before locking and minimising to the System Tray.

The next release saves the previous commands on lock so that, even if your changes have been saved, when unlocking you will be able to undo them if needed.

The Help entry already explains that Escape works differently depending on the use of the System Tray but I may clarify it with respect to unsaved changes.

Please update this ticket if you feel there is still an issue.
