Hi,

I know there have been tickets earlier with the same title, however none of those were any help to me.

Whenever I try to create a new entry or modify an existing one, I get this message:

"Unable to create intermediate backup."

If I minimize the application, first it pops up the same message as above and in addition this one:

"Couldn't save database - Please save manually"

Earlier tickets suggested that the folder permissions might be not enough.
It wouldn't have made any sense as I had no such problems earlier, I could save my files anywhere, anytime. But whatever, I checked the permissions: I have Full Control via NTFS permissions (oh yeah, Win7 64bit is the OS) as I am the admin of the computer. I even gave permissions via command line.
Then I tried to save it in the root folder of a different drive. Nope.
Then tried to save it in My Documents. Nope again.

Hint: I can save the file with "Save as..." if I didn't modify anything, but as soon as try to modify any entry, it pops up the error message.

I had one more idea: maybe the Admin Approval Mode messes with it, so I disabled it. UAC is at the lowest level.

Nothing helped. I even tried updating to the newest version of the app, nothing.
So currently I can only read my passwords, but I can't modify them or create new ones.

Is there anything else I didn't try yet?
I seriously don't know, what could have cause this. It just suddenly decided not to work anymore.

Something else that is easy to try and may fix it (or may not): uninstall,
    reboot then reinstall the app.

    Good luck.

When Password Safe create intermediate backup, it move original file (.psafe) to backup file (.ibak). If move operation is failed, it'll report about backup error. So to successfully create intermediate backup, user should have change/write rights not only to source and destination directories, but for .psafe file too.
Could you please check, that user, that run Password Safe, have necessary rights for original file (for example by renaming the file in Explorer, or using icacls command line tool, if pwsafe.exe and .psafe file have different integrity(mandatory) levels)?

If problem isn't in access rights to .psafe file, some additinal info may be needed: for example, trace of file operation with Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx). I'll describe how to do the trace, if you'll decide to try it.
