Protected entries can't be modified until the have been unprotected. However they can be dragged to another group within the same database, which effectively changes their Group.
This defeats the objective of protection were ALL fields should be unmodifiable.
This implies that dragging a group with one or more protected entries should also be disallowed (simpler and less confusing to fail the entire drag&drop than to selectively drop the unprotected entries).
True but the check needs to be on whether that group OR any of its sub-groups have one or more protected entries.
However, I am unsure on how you will communicate to the user the reason for why his D&D failed, was incomplete or not allowed in the first place - especially if the protected entry is deep down the group Tree.
