Agreed.  That's all it is.

We can vote on it.  

We can always vote to deferr implementing it until some later date.

It will be a whole lot easier to do now than it will be later. :-P
The core issue is do we want to?  If we do, then the sooner the better.
Imagine having to fix applications down the road?

If we all reach a freeze, have 1 or 2 people make the change, everyone
can then just throw away their current working directories and do a new
checkout.   Could be fairly straightforward...


If there are other lingering issues like this, plesae speak up about them 
now.  We might vote them down now but pick them up again at some future date.
These kinds of things will have a massive impact, the sooner we bit the
bullet and get them over with, the better off we will be in the long
run.
