I'm trying to backup a simple ext3 partition that has
been properly umounted and fsck'ed without errors.

I tried these versions of partimage:

* RescueCD from your site
* the one from knoppix-3.9
* the one from knoppix-4.0
* the static binary from your site

all of which fail immediately after the fsck with a
"Error while reading bitmap" error.

I have collected the 4 logfiles and attached them
here.
