I have a Mac G4 running OS X 10.3.8. I do not seem to
understand how to install par2cmdline on it.
I downloaded par2cmdline-0.4-ppc-G4-MacOS-X-10.2.tar.gz
from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=30568&release_id=161776
and opened with with stuffit expander ver. 7.0.3.
Inside the untarred folder
par2cmdline-0.4-ppc-G4-MacOS-X-10.2,
I see three icons resembling grey terminal windows,
labelled "COPYING" "PAR2" and "README."
Double-clicking on "PAR2" opens terminal and a separate
window labelled "Completed Command," which displays
some general information about par2cmdline.
I get almost the same result by dragging the "PAR2"
icon onto an open terminal window at the command line.
I had expected that one of these actions would install
the program, but it seems not to be right.
After double-clicking or dragging the icon, typing
"par2" (no quotes) at the command line returns the
error "-bash: par2: command not found."
What do I need to do to install and run par2cmdline in
my terminal?
