Hi,

I recently upgraded my system board (supposedly). I swapped in the new board and new memory keeping all the other hardware and am experiencing considerable performance cuts. I am coming here because its only noticeable during the Par creation phase..

I have a Core 2 (E6600) and the usual performance I had out of it when running 1 instance of QuickPar is roughly 1100Mb throughput. when I added a second instance of Quickpar creating a second set of par files in parallel it would always get roughly 900Mb throughput on both for a combined throughput of 1800Mb. The systemboard I used is a ECS P965T-A with 1GIG of pc5300 ddr2 667 Mhz memory.

On the new system with an Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe (same exact processor) and 2Gigs of pc5400 ddr2 667 Mhz memory I get throughput of roughly 1100 Mb however the moment I attempt to add a second instance of Quickpar the the throughput gets one in the gut, going all the way down to 600Mb for each.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend anyone go out and buy the first board, since it's got serious problems with the IDE including it being capable of only 1x read/write speed, and only ONE of them. and some other stuff I can't remember at the moment.

By the way, nothing is running in the background.. I almost always leave it running overnight, so running 2 Quickpar instances is extremely useful time-wise.

   Thanks
