When I set up the forums I enabled anonymous posting.  This has turned out to be a burden as it is hard to tell who is saying what.  It also allows for open-ended conversations because the anonymous poster has to keep checking back to see if their question has been answered.

From now on all users must be logged in before they will be able to post.  My hope is that by requiring all users to be logged in, we can get to know each other by name.  Also (as long as everybody sets up their e-mail accounts properly) this will significantly shorten the feedback loop, both for those asking the questions and those answering them.

I don't want to leave anybody with the impression of a "cracking down" on the forums.  My goal is to make our communications more productive and timely for everyone involved.

May all your documents be laid out as intended,

Matthew
