Problem 2 normally happens when the SMTP server settings aren't right.
Version 2.3 added support for TLS/SSL - this is required if you wish
to use GMail as the SMTP server (not if you just want to send e-mails
to a GMail account). If you're wanting to use GMail as the SMTP
server, let me know - it's a bit complicated, but I'll help you sort
it out.

It's largely up to you. You can uninstall first if you wish. If you
don't, the new version will replace the existing version, and keep
your settings. However, if you don't uninstall first, make sure Panic
Button isn't running when you install.

Not a problem. Sorry for the delay in replying - I was away for the
weekend. I've CC'd this to the Panic Button users list, so that people
having the same questions in future have a chance to find the answers.
If you use "Reply All" in your e-mail client, then your reply should
go to the list as well as to me.
